The author, Dannis, grew up in a mid-sized city on the West Coast. He was raised, taught, and cared for by a very loving mother. Growing up, Dannis had many pets, including a turtle, a rabbit, a cat, and a tankful of fish. He and his family also had two dogs and a cat.
